The first batch of projects proposed for support 15 cities are

(Sorted by administrative division):


Shijiazhuang, Taiyuan, Shenyang, Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Hefei, Fuzhou, Nanchang, Qingdao, Wuhan , Dongguan, Chongqing, Chengdu, Xi’an.

 

The “Notice on Launching Demonstration Projects for Urban Renewal” states that, The central government provides fixed-amount subsidies to demonstration cities on a regional basis. Among them: the total subsidy for each city in the eastern region shall not exceed 800 million yuan, The total subsidy for each city in the central region shall not exceed 1 billion yuan, The total subsidy for each city in the western region shall not exceed RMB 1.2 billion; the total subsidy for each municipality shall not exceed RMB 1.2 billion. Funds will be disbursed annually in accordance with the progress of implementation.

 

Specific areas of funding support include:

 

Renovation and upgrading of urban underground utility networks. Carry out the renovation and upgrading of urban underground utility networks, including gas, heating, water supply and drainage, and power systems; promote the construction of integrated underground utility tunnels tailored to local conditions; and enhance the overall quality of urban underground infrastructure.

 

Construction of a model zone for full coverage of the urban sewage network. For the sewage treatment pipeline network, according to… The “integrated plant‑grid” model is being upgraded and renovated to enhance the efficiency of wastewater collection and treatment.

 

Addressing infrastructure gaps in urban areas. Upgrade and renovate municipal infrastructure, including waste sorting systems, integrated utility poles and cabinets, and logistics facilities, to address existing gaps and weaknesses in urban infrastructure; enhance the public service functions of urban green spaces, and promote the development of pocket parks and the open, shared use of green areas.

 

Renovation and redevelopment of aging urban areas. Carry out energy‑saving and carbon‑reduction upgrades to historic and cultural districts, existing public buildings, and public spaces, continuously enhancing building functionality and improving the quality of the living environment. Implement urban‑function‑improvement projects, promote age‑friendly and child‑friendly renovations, and accelerate the development and retrofitting of barrier‑free environments in public spaces.
