The 2024 Shanghai Municipal Engineering Geophysical Exploration Skills Competition concluded successfully, with a recap of Wuhan Bo Dong’s participation.


From September 7 to 8, 2024, under the care and guidance of the Shanghai Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Bureau and the Shanghai Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, the event—hosted by the Shanghai Association for Science and Technology and co-organized by the Shanghai Geological Society and the Shanghai Geophysical Society—was undertaken by Shanghai Geological and Mining Engineering Investigation (Group) Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Shannan Surveying and Design Co., Ltd. “ Supporting urban renewal and safeguarding urban safety —The 2024 Shanghai Municipal Engineering Geophysical Exploration Skills Competition was successfully held at the Shanghai Geological and Mineral Resources Building.

 

 

This two-day competition, centered on the theme of urban renewal for this year’s annual conference and guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, adheres to the requirements set forth in the “Implementation Opinions on Strengthening the Development of a Highly Skilled Workforce in the New Era.” Focusing on urban renewal and urban safety, the event seeks to promote learning, training, evaluation, and practical application through competition, while vigorously upholding the spirit of model workers, the spirit of labor, and the spirit of craftsmanship. With the aim of accelerating the cultivation of highly skilled talent urgently needed for industry development and injecting new momentum into the growth of high-quality productive forces, the event has attracted nearly one hundred outstanding personnel from asset management organizations across sectors including marine engineering, power, infrastructure, and construction.

 

 

The competition is divided into Theoretical Knowledge Examination and Skills Operation Assessment The skills‑based assessment includes two specially designed components—“Underground Pipeline Detection” and “Obstacle Detection”—aimed at comprehensively evaluating contestants’ overall competence and technical proficiency through a combination of theoretical examinations and on‑site practical assessments.
