University–Enterprise Collaboration, Learning Through Practice | Students from the School of Earth and Space Sciences at China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) Visit BoDong Technology for Hands-On Research and Learning Activities


To deepen industry–education integration and achieve the goal of collaborative talent cultivation between universities and enterprises, on the afternoon of April 30, 2026, Dean Luo Yinhé, Deputy Party Secretary Guo Xiaoyu, Director of the Experimental Teaching Center Zhang Ying, and counselor Gao Lingfeng from the School of Earth and Space Sciences at China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) led more than thirty undergraduate students to Wuhan BoDong Technology Co., Ltd., embarking on an immersive, hands-on learning journey. As a company deeply rooted in the field of ground-penetrating radar technology, it integrates research and development, manufacturing, sales, and service. During this event, we transformed real-world corporate scenarios into a dynamic learning environment, providing students and faculty with a comprehensive overview of our product portfolio, the company’s evolution, and its industry applications—thus building a solid bridge that connects theoretical knowledge with practical industry experience.

At the study‑tour event, Mr. Yang Hongxing, General Manager of Wuhan BoDong Technology Co., Ltd. and an alumnus of China University of Geosciences, personally welcomed the visiting faculty and students. He then guided them on a well‑organized tour of the company’s core departments, including the Sales, Production, and R&D divisions, providing a comprehensive overview of the company’s technological prowess and its scale of development. In the product showcase area, General Manager Yang presented the company’s full range of radar products, with particular emphasis on the technical features, key market positioning, and diverse application scenarios of flagship offerings such as borehole radars, three‑dimensional radars, and high‑depth geological radars. Through clear, accessible explanations, he enabled the students to gain a direct understanding of the unique advantages of each model, deepening their awareness of emerging trends in next‑generation ultra‑wideband radar technology while also giving them a tangible sense of BoDong Technology’s robust product capabilities and profound technical heritage.

During the thematic exchange session, the company’s technical experts provided an overview of the fundamental principles and key technological aspects of ground-penetrating radar, highlighting typical application scenarios and real-world projects for several models, covering… Major projects such as the Wuhan Metro, the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, seismic active fault detection, and power grid infrastructure, along with field‑based initiatives across China—including karst hazard mapping in Guangxi, Guizhou, and Yunnan; groundwater level monitoring in Inner Mongolia; subsidence zone exploration in Shaanxi’s mining areas; and structural health assessments of reservoir dams in Fujian—have been undertaken. All of these have been thoroughly validated in real-world applications. At the same time, the presentation delved into the equipment’s key advantages—precise, efficient, stable, and reliable performance in complex engineering environments—as well as essential practical techniques for hands-on operation. This session, which focused on product applications and addressed students’ needs, helped participants deepen their understanding of the practical uses of exploration technologies, enhanced their awareness and appreciation of our brand and products, and further inspired them to pursue careers in geoscience exploration and to engage more deeply with their academic studies.

The hands-on experience session was the highlight of this educational field trip. Company technicians began with a live demonstration, providing detailed instruction on the operating procedures and practical techniques for using ground-penetrating radar equipment. They simultaneously explained the key operational principles, data‑collection protocols, and methods for handling anomalies, laying a solid foundation for students’ subsequent hands‑on training. Following the demonstration, under the guidance of the technicians, students engaged in practical GPR exercises, operating the equipment themselves and observing real‑time data transmission and imaging results. This hands‑on experience not only allowed students to closely appreciate the superior performance of Wave Technology’s specialized detection instruments but also deepened their understanding of the underlying principles of GPR, its operational modes, and the on‑site surveying workflow—truly enabling them to acquire knowledge through practice and grow through direct experience.

This hands-on, research‑based learning initiative represents a key step for BoDong Technology in fulfilling its responsibility to foster talent through university–enterprise collaboration and in supporting the development of geoscience professionals.
