Ground-penetrating radar breaks into the mainstream! WaveTech’s cutting-edge black technology ignites the China University of Geosciences Science Popularization Carnival.

On May 31, the Academician Corridor at the Nanwangshan Campus of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) was inaugurated with great fanfare, marking the official opening of the 2026 “Zhongyi IoT” Student Science and Technology Festival and the “Asking the Heavens, Exploring the Earth” science outreach carnival, hosted by the School of Geophysics and Spatial Information. Wuhan BoDong Technology Co., Ltd. is a company deeply rooted in the field of ground-penetrating radar technology, integrating research and development, manufacturing, sales, and service. High-tech enterprises, specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative small and medium-sized enterprises and Innovative small and medium-sized enterprises , invited to make a high‑profile appearance at the exhibition, showcased multiple self‑developed core ground‑penetrating radar products on site, winning widespread acclaim with its cutting‑edge domestically produced technology and earning unanimous praise from faculty and students.

This year’s Science and Technology Festival is themed “Walking with Science and Technology, Setting Sail for Our Dreams.” The opening ceremony was chaired by Luo Yinhé, Dean of the School of Earth and Space Sciences. Grounded in its mission to foster innovation through science and technology, the event has established a platform for university–enterprise collaboration and integrated industry–university–research development. More than 300 participants, including faculty and students from the university as well as guests from external institutions such as Wuhan No. 2 Middle School, gathered on site to embark on a grand geological exploration, using scientific innovation as a bridge and popular science as a source of inspiration. Xia Fan, Member of the University Party Committee and Vice President, attended the event and delivered a speech, encouraging students to uphold the spirit of serving the nation through geology, deepen their professional knowledge, and dedicate themselves to key national projects such as geological exploration and underground space development.

This event features a dedicated exhibition area for science‑popularization products, where numerous leading companies in the industry have showcased their cutting‑edge, in‑house‑developed detection equipment, fostering a vibrant atmosphere of on‑site interaction. Among them, the Wave Technology booth has remained consistently popular, attracting a steady stream of teachers and students eager to observe and experience its offerings, making it a must‑visit highlight of the carnival. The equipment showcased by Volatility Technology this time is: BD-GPR-U50 high‑depth ground-penetrating radar, BD-BRD borehole radar, BD-GPR-3D three‑dimensional ground‑penetrating radar, BD-GPR handheld three‑dimensional ground‑penetrating radar, BD-RCS stepped‑frequency ground‑penetrating radar, BD-GPR-S (200+400 MHz) dual‑frequency ground‑penetrating radar, BD-GPR-400 MHz and 900 MHz single‑frequency ground‑penetrating radars, BD-LDS life detector, and radar level gauge. , with a range of products covering diverse application scenarios such as shallow and deep‑layer exploration, pipeline detection, structural nondestructive testing, and life‑saving rescue operations, it comprehensively showcases the robust, independently developed capabilities of domestically produced geophysical exploration equipment.

Staff member Zhang Liang provided a brief overview of the exhibited equipment, outlining the application areas for each radar category. He also highlighted the vehicle-mounted 3D radar system, which can be mounted on the rear of a vehicle and, at a cruising speed of approximately 40 kilometers per hour, dynamically scans and detects subsurface voids and structural defects beneath roadbeds. This engaging and hands-on technical demonstration sparked keen curiosity among the students in attendance, who eagerly stepped forward to closely examine and personally operate the various devices. Detection instrument , stepping beyond the theoretical concepts in textbooks to truly appreciate the unique appeal of applying geophysical technologies in real-world settings.

This year’s participation in the Science and Technology Festival not only showcases Volat Technology’s full lineup of in-house‑developed detection equipment and its robust technological capabilities, but also serves as a vivid demonstration of the deep integration and practical implementation of industry–university–research collaboration. Seizing the opportunity presented by this university–enterprise exchange, BoDong Technology will remain true to its original commitment to independent innovation, continue to ramp up investment in research and development, and leverage long-term collaborative mechanisms with universities to deepen industry–education integration, tackle key technological challenges, and cultivate talent. The company will steadily advance the iterative development of cutting-edge, domestically produced exploration equipment, leveraging robust technologies to drive quality improvement and industrial upgrading, thereby progressively realizing its vision of scientific and technological innovation: “Exploring the Heavens and the Earth, Precision Geophysical Exploration.”
