Case 1: Leakage Detection of a Reservoir in Zhangzhou

The reservoir was completed in March 1975, with a total storage capacity of 321,000 m³. The main projects for risk reduction and reinforcement include: high-pressure rotary jet grouting curtain for the dam, concrete pavement on the dam crest and construction of a new wave-breaking wall, concrete prefabricated block slope protection on the upper part of the upstream slope, skeleton sod slope protection on the downstream slope, and the addition of drainage ditches and steps, reinforcement and heightening of the spillway side wall and concrete protection of the bottom plate, construction of a new pedestrian bridge, repair of water diversion culvert casing and buried pipes, addition of water and rain monitoring facilities, construction of a new management building, and repair of flood prevention roads, etc. The project started in March 2014 and was completed in January 2015.

This time, the BD-GPR-100M radar independently developed by Wuhan Bo Dong Technology was used for detection:

First Platform:

Description: According to the analysis of the detection data image of the first layer, Red Box The marked area is a section of void, horizontally from channels 760 to 1600, Yellow Box The marked area is a shallow fissure, with a depth of less than 1m, Blue Box The marked area is a fissure (cavity), with a depth of less than 1.5m, Green Box The marked area shows a layered medium, and the direction of the same-phase axis is continuous.

Second Platform:

Description: According to the analysis of the second layer detection data, Blue Mark The area is a layered medium with a depth of about 1.8m, and the direction of the overall same-phase axis is relatively continuous with some undulations, which is normal. Two Red Marks The areas are two shallow fissures. Fissure 1 is horizontally from channel 1700 to 2730, and fissure 2 is horizontally from channel 3680 to 4282.

Third Layer: There are two seepage points in the third layer, Seepage Point 1 is on the slope between the second and third platforms, Seepage Point 2 is located somewhere on the slope below the third platform. The overall length of the third platform is 50m approximately.

Section 1 (Due to the stairs, the measurement is divided into two sections. The length of the first section is 15m approximately, and the length of the second section is 35m approximately)

Description: According to the analysis of the detection data from the third platform, Red Marks The area is a layered medium with a depth of about 3m. Analysis of the reflected wave waveform shows that the amplitude of the reflected wave in this section is large, therefore, seepage is present in this layered medium. Blue Mark The area is a shallow fissure (cavity).

Section 2:

Description: According to the detection data from the second section of the third platform, Red Marks The area is a layered medium, continuous with the first section of the third layer. Analysis of the reflected wave amplitude shows that the water content is not obvious in this section, but Blue Mark the amplitude of the blue area is significantly different from the red area, the blue section has a relatively large amplitude, so it is analyzed that there is a leakage phenomenon in the blue area.
