From April 17 to 19, the 2026 Symposium on Cutting-Edge Developments in Intelligent Exploration and Smart Pipeline Networks was successfully held at the Linyi Talent Academic Exchange Center. The event was co-hosted by the Smart Pipeline Network Professional Committee of the Chinese Geophysical Society, the Shandong Provincial Geophysical Society, and the Key Laboratory for Geological Safety of Underground Space in Coastal Cities under the Ministry of Natural Resources. At this symposium, Academician Di Qingyun and Academician Teng Jiwen of the Chinese Academy of Sciences delivered keynote presentations at the Academicians’ Forum. Experts and scholars from universities including Shandong University, Jilin University, and Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, as well as from domestic and international research institutes and industry organizations such as the German Institute for Underground Space (IKT) and the Anhui Provincial Exploration Technology Institute, subsequently shared cutting-edge academic findings. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on technological advances, key challenges, digital applications, and future directions for industrial development in the fields of intelligent sensing and smart pipeline networks.

 

The equipment showcased by Volatility Technology this time is BD-BRD borehole radar, BD-GPR-S dual-frequency ground-penetrating radar (200+400 MHz), and the BD-GPR-U series of high‑depth ground-penetrating radars at 100 MHz and 12.5 MHz.   • It can accurately detect complex geological structures such as underground karst caves, concealed underground rivers, and loose strata, providing comprehensive raw data for regional geological surveys, identification of potential geological hazards, and slope and geotechnical engineering remediation.
  • It can clearly analyze the spatial extension patterns of ore bodies, the three-dimensional geometry of underground roadways, and potential hazards in the surrounding rock, thereby supporting transparent mine operations, optimizing mining layouts, and enhancing safety management in underground mining.
  • It can efficiently carry out surveys of aging urban pipeline networks and comprehensive inventories of municipal underground utility lines, accurately determine the burial depths, alignments, and potential geotechnical hazards in the surrounding soil, and support digital asset management for smart pipeline networks, pipeline operation and maintenance updates, as well as the information‑based development of urban underground spaces.
  • It can comprehensively detect hidden defects such as subgrade voids, settlements, and cracks in highways and municipal roads, supporting the maintenance and repair of the province’s transportation network, the acceptance of infrastructure projects, and the upgrading of road safety.
  • It can provide comprehensive coverage across diverse applications, including field geological surveys, tunnel ahead-of‑face forecasting, and the identification of hidden underground hazards. Leveraging high‑precision subsurface detection technologies, it strengthens the safety safeguards for urban underground infrastructure and supports the development of smart utility networks and digital governance systems for underground spaces.
