From April 21 to 25, 2026, the nation’s first training program on ground-penetrating radar technology—covering exploration, inspection, and calibration—and aimed at enhancing analytical capabilities was successfully held in Xi’an, concluding with great success. (China Standards Press), in collaboration with the Xi’an Institute of Metrology, Shaanxi Expressway Engineering Testing and Inspection Co., Ltd., Xi’an Coal Science Testing Technology Co., Ltd., and Xi’an Noah Emergency Equipment Technology Co., Ltd., Wuhan Volatility Technology Co., Ltd. Co-organized by Xi’an Huirun Tap Water Equipment Technology Co., Ltd. and several other leading industry institutions, this event brings together diverse professional expertise to jointly create an industry‑wide platform for learning, networking, and capability development.

This training program is designed to meet the industry’s needs for standardized and规范ized development in the ground-penetrating radar (GPR) sector. It systematically covers the key technical aspects of GPR exploration, inspection, and calibration across the entire workflow, with a curriculum that progresses logically and builds upon itself—starting with foundational theory, moving on to hands-on field applications, and culminating in an analysis of industry standards and case studies. This comprehensive, multi‑faceted approach helps participants enhance their professional expertise. During the course, instructors provide a thorough explanation of the fundamental principles and hardware components of GPR, offer an in-depth interpretation of the relevant standards and methodologies outlined in “Application of Ground-Penetrating Radar Technology,” and meticulously dissect the JJF(Shaanxi) 131‑2025 “Calibration Specification for Ground-Penetrating Radar” developed by the Xi’an Institute of Metrological Technology, along with related industry requirements. These efforts enable participants to solidify their theoretical understanding and gain a clear grasp of industry standards.
Wave Technology dispatched a team of five senior technical experts to provide comprehensive instruction throughout the training. Leveraging their deep expertise in radar ultra-wideband technology, engineering geophysical methods, and structural health monitoring, they shared cutting-edge technological applications and practical engineering experience with the participants. In addition, they delivered specialized presentations on equipment operation, data acquisition, and interpretation and analysis, drawing on their solid technical foundation to address学员’s questions and concerns, thereby helping all trainees enhance their professional competence.
This training session includes a dedicated field‑based instructional component, with all activities conducted using ground‑penetrating radar equipment independently developed by BoDong Technology, including… BD-GPR-U100 high‑depth ground-penetrating radar, BD-GPR-200 MHz and 900 MHz single‑frequency series ground-penetrating radars, and the BD-RCS stepped‑frequency ground-penetrating radar. These devices have a wide range of applications and can meet the engineering exploration requirements for varying depths and resolutions.
